Andrew Egbakhumeh Emerges Winner As Oba Elegushi Golf Championship Maiden Edition Holds

TRIXX NG reports that Andrew Egbakhumeh has emerged winner of the maiden edition of Oba Elegushi Golf Championship which took place on Friday, 9th Of April, 2021 to commemorate the 45th Birthday celebration of the Elegushi of Ikate Kingdom, Oba Saheed Elegushi.

The competition which was keenly contested by several golf professionals took place at the Lagos Golf club in one of the most classy manner.

According to Oba Saheed Elegushi, the competition was borne of his zeal for golf sport, and as a golfers, He thought of celebrating professional golfers as he celebrates his birthday.

He made it known that the competition will continue and as time goes on, it will move out of Lagos to the national level, all in a way to let people embrace golf sport.

While speaking on reason behind his love for the sport, He explained that Golf has taught him that nothing is perfect in life

‘‘This Golf tournament is to mark my 45th birthday, lots have happened in the last one year, people have died, it’s a way to appreciate God for keeping me alive.

I’m a golfer and I have been looking forward to hosting a competition in my name so I decided to give it a shot. This is going to be an annual event, we are going to take it to another level to make golfers happy, we will take it to the national level as time goes on.

I took up golfing because its my hubby, it’s a game that teaches you how life is, nothing is perfect, when you are a golfer, you must be calm, you must be able to manage any situation you find yourself’’

Furthermore, While speaking with the committee chairman for the golf tournament, Abisoye Fabiade, He noted that the tournament is one of the most organized so far, while extolling the good treatment given to the players.

‘This competition is a well-organized tournament, it’s the first one and we will continue with it, this it to mark Kabiesi 45th birthday, and I am sure the golfers can attest to the fact that they are enjoying themselves, on and off the course.

The turnout is overwhelming, we had over 200 people who wanted to play, we had to pick 120 being the first one so we can be able to take good care of them.’
