APC Will Win All LG Elections But PDP Candidates May Be Declared Winner

At the moment, Lagos and Ogun states are currently agog and under tension due to the local government elections that is being held today across the states. Even though it is a known fact that the election is more like an appointment for all APC candidates because there is no strong opposition party presence but to make it official, there is need for an election.

Before the APC LG election primaries, we recall that there were certain issues within the party that led to crisis, fights, killings, violence in some part of these states. Some who eventually became candidates of the election were exposed and enmeshed in some serious scandals relating to certificate especially.

In recent times, we have seen how certificate scandals have caused parties a lot, some parties have lost senatorial seat, house of assembly seats, even governorship seat due to this scandals despite the fact that they won elections. At the end of the day, the opposition parties ended up getting the victory since the rightful winner got enmeshed in certificate scandals.

A case like this may come up in the local government elections being held today. During the tussle and battle for who becomes the flag bearer of the APC in the election, some revelations have been made of which some are yet to be resolved till now. Some local government candidates don’t have the complete requirements to be eligible to compete in this election but because of party influence, they scaled through the screening process that produced them as candidates.

We all known that APC at the moment isn’t settled, some aggrieved members are ready to soil the victory of the party by conniving with oppositions after the election. All the opposition needs to battle the party is available most especially the certificate scandal issue. PDP being the strongest opposition in Nigeria may decide to file a case against them in the court of law, and if care isn’t taken, the victory may end up being for PDP candidates.

Except APC immediately swing into action, settle the aggrieved members, victory is very far from them in some local governments as some of the candidates may be removed by the court.
