JUST IN: Gov Adeleke Intervenes As EFCC Operatives Arrests Over 60 OAU Students

TRIXX NG reports that Osun state governor, Ademola Adeleke has intervened in the arrest of students of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
According to reports, operatives of the EFCC stormed the school around 4 am this morning to forcefully arrest over 60 students of the institution on allegations of cybercrime.
The commission paraded the students hours later with pictures of their cars, laptops and phones.
The arrest has led to a mild unrest in the institution and students have also been seen protesting at the office of the commission in Ibadan.
Governor Ademola Adeleke has however called for calm while revealing that he has ordered immediate actions to be taken to ensure the rights of the arrested students are protected.
‘’ I have instructed the state’s Attorney General to work with the school administration, leadership of the Student Union, and the @officialEFCC to safeguard the rights of the students and ensure that due process is meticulously adhered to. I will continue to keep close watch
