NLC To Demand For N1 Million As Minimum Wage For Nigerian Workers
TRIXX NG reports that the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) has revealed that it may demand for N1 Million from the president as minimum wage for Nigerian workers due to the economic situation.
In a chat on Arise TV, the NLC chairman made it known that the N200,000 that was requested for earlier is no longer valid because of the exchange rate. He stated that exchange rate was N800/$ when the initial amount was requested but now, it has changed.
He also disclosed that the old minimum wage will expire by April and the FG should have set up a committee to review it six months before expiration. Although the FG has constituted a committee, the NLC chairman expressed dissatisfaction among the members of the committee.
