TRIXX NG reports that some very important personalities may end up being arrested for using twitter after the federal government banned the microblogging platform yesterday.
The announcement of the ban since yesterday has sparked outrage as the president has been described as a dictator who doesn’t respect the right of the citizens to express their opinion without any oppression.
After the ban was enforced, Nigerians have found another way to access twitter with the use of VPNs, and important personalities have been using that means to access twitter platform too.
The governor of Oyo state, Seyi Makinde made a tweet this morning berating President Buhari’s order on twitter while pleading that he reverse the order.
The general overseer of RCCG, Pastor EA Adeboye also posted on his twitter page some minutes ago.
A former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode also posted on his twitter page after the ban which means they used VPNs to access the twitter space.
However, news making rounds now has it that the federal government has ordered the arrest of citizens using the twitter application because it is now a criminal offence to use it.
If this is anything to go by, it literally translates to the FG going after the important personalities that have resorted to VPNs to make use of twitter app.
