The crisis in the University Of Lagos (UNILAG) Leadership is getting messier by the day. The crisis has revealed several exclusive information and hidden secrets of many years.
Information reaching this publications has revealed again how the Pro-chancellor, Wale Babalakin’s partner in his chamber, Bayo Adaralegbe allegedly forged and manipulated his appointment into the governing council of the institution by claiming to be an indigene of Rivers state.
According to a letter written by the concerned indigenes of Rivers state to the governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike, It was revealed that Bayo Adaralegbe is occupying a position that doesn’t belong to him, being an indigene of Ekiti state.
Five Federal Government appointees are supposed to represent the different interests from the different geo political zones of the country on the Governing Council.
Meanwhile, two people namely Dr Wale Babalakin and Rev Yomi Kasali had been appointment for the South-West region but surprisingly, Dr Bayo Adaralegbe, who is from Ekiti state changed his name from Bayo to ‘Aga’, in order to claim to be from Rivers state.
The letter however asked the governor to reclaim the position of Rivers state in the governing council and demand an apology from Bayo Adaralebe.

OPEN LETTER TO HIS EXCELLENCY, GOVERNOR NYESOM WIKE ON THE USURPATION AND MANIPULATION OF RIVERS STATE (SOUTH-SOUTH) SLOT ON THE GOVERNING COUNCIL OF UNIVERSITY OF LAGOS TO DR. AGA (BAYO) ADARALEGBE (PARTNER, WALE-BABALAKIN CHAMBERS, AN INDIGENE OF EKITI STATE, NIGERIA )
Our amiable Governor Sir, we read with great concern, emerging news from the University of Lagos that a certain Dr Bayo Adaralegbe was appointed to the Governing Council of the University of Lagos as an indigene of Rivers State (who claimed to be Dr Aga Adaralegbe). We have learnt that five Federal Government appointees are supposed to represent the different interests from the different geo political zones of the country on the Governing Council.
Information reaching us from several Social-Media platforms and supported by the attached document is that five members were appointed into the University of Lagos Governing Council in May 2017. However, because two members were already selected from the South-West geo political zones (namely Dr Wale Babalakin and Rev Yomi Kasali), the slot belonging to the South-South zone was illegally given to a certain Bayo Adaralegbe from Ekiti, who claimed to be from Rivers State in order to avoid any suspicion with a pseudo name of Aga Adaralegbe (as attached).
We state here unequivocally that Dr Bayo Adaralegbe is not a son of Rivers State and has no affiliation with our State. He is a Partner of the Wale-Babalakin Chambers and he is from Ekiti State, South-West Nigeria. This was a forgery to deny the good people of Rivers State their Federal Character right. We challenge Bayo Adaralegbe to make public his Local Government Area and ancestral home, if he is indeed from Rivers State.
Your Excellency, Bayo Adaralegbe can be contacted at Wale Babalakin & Co., 9-11 Floors, 43A Churchgate Street, Victoria Island, Lagos (phone no +2348037173050) for confirmation of his true state of origin. We decry this outright forgery and the attempt to manipulate what rightly belongs to us to the South-west geopolitical zone. We condemn this daylight robbery by Bayo Adaralegbe and his cohorts.
Our Dear Governor, we plead with you to use your good offices to immediately commence process of reclaiming the slot of Rivers State on the Governing Council of the University of Lagos. In addition, we also plead that you demand an apology from Dr Bayo Adaralegbe for usurping a position that was never his and also institute a legal action against this national daylight robbery.
There are thousands of bonafide Rivers sons and daughters with impeccable character who can rightly fill this position. The good people of Rivers State look forward to your immediate action. We trust you to act in your characteristics manner as the best action Governor in Nigeria.
