100 Days After, No One Is Taking Responsibility For Lekki Toll-gate Shootings

100 days ago, Lagos bled after some men of the Nigerian army stormed Lekki-Toll gate during the #EndSARS protest aimed at ending police brutality in Nigeria.

Some Nigerian youths have taken to the streets of Lagos and Nigeria to protest the killings and brutality experienced in the hands of the Nigerian police peacefully, though it was hijacked by hoodlums in some place in Nigeria.

The major point of meeting in Lagos was at Lekki-Toll gate, and for days, business in that axis was crippled. In a way to drive them away, the Nigerian army stormed the premises and shot at some of the protesters.

As a result of this, some people died while some were seriously injured, all the happenings was recorded live on the instagram of DJ Switch, and this brought about lots of controversies.

The governor of Lagos state, Babajide Sanwoolu revealed that he didn’t order the shooting and intervention of the Nigerian army and that it was some powers from above that ordered.

The Nigerian army likewise didn’t take responsibility for the killings, they explained that they never shot at protesters, but in the air after saying they were not at Lekki-toll gate earlier.

Also, a panel was created to investigate the killings, but unfortunately, till date, no tangible findings have been made.
