Why APC’s Frank Ibezim Should Not Rejoice Yet Despite Supreme Court Judgment
The supreme court today has affirmed Frank Ibezim as the candidate of the APC in the Imo north senatorial election that took place on December 5.
This has put an end to the long tussle in the party concerning who becomes the beneficiary of APC vote in the election as it has been between Ifeanyi Ararume And Frank Ibezim.
With the supreme court judgment, Frank Ibezim technically becomes the senator-elect since the APC was declared winner in the election.
However, there is still a clause for him because he still has to face the election tribunal which will determine if he will be given the certificate of return or not.
The case at the tribunal is quite different from the one supreme court ruled on today, although the supreme court freed him of the certificate scandal which he has been battling since the election ended, but the fact still remains that he wasn’t part of the election that took place on December 5 because he was sacked.
This is what the Tribunal will rule on and it may likely not favour him because of the earlier disqualification from the election 24 hours before, and this may give the PDP Candidate, Emmanuel Okewulonu the election victory
