Another Fuel Tanker Explodes In Ibadan, Vehicles Burnt
Two vehicles have been burnt as a result of petroleum tanker explosion in Ibadan, Oyo State on Thursday night.
Trixx NG learnt the petroleum tanker fell and burst into fire around Agodi gate area of Ibadan, a few metres away from Ibadan Zonal office of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA).
The explosion is coming about 48 hours after a tanker conveying petrol exploded along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, leaving at least five people dead.
Director of Operations, Oyo State Fire Services, Mr Ismail Adeleke who confirmed the incident said that his men were able to quench the fire around 11.pm on Thursday.
”The fire started from the engine compartment of the tanker and the driver, having seen the burning fire, panicked and jumped out of the moving truck.
”The vehicle lost control and fell, spilling its content on the road and fire raged along the way. Two cars were destroyed but no life was lost in the inferno,” he said.
