ACT Foundation Opens 2024 Grant Cycle to Empower Non-profits and Social Enterprises in Africa
Aspire Coronation Trust (ACT) Foundation has announced the opening of the highly anticipated 2024 ACT Grant Cycle, an initiative designed to support and scale up non-profits and social enterprisesin Africa.
The 2024 Grant Cycle, which opened on Monday, 23rd October and closes on Friday, 10th November, is targeted at non-profits and social enterprises in Africa working on projects in the sectors of Health, Environment, Entrepreneurship and Leadership.
Chief Executive Officer of the ACT Foundation, Osayi Alile, described the 2024 Grant Cycle as a much-needed intervention for the African community. According to her, the emergence of the grant cycle was an answer to a growing need to address the increasing challenges and associated vulnerabilities in Africa with the desire tocreate a more sustainable world for individuals to live in.
“As we gradually approach 2030, it is becoming increasingly clear that most African countries are struggling to meet most of thesustainable developmentgoals (SDGs). Reports show that without deliberate policies and collaborations to accelerate progress towards the SDGs, at least 492 million people will be left in extreme poverty in 2030 and at least 350 million in 2050.
“We recognise this gap and are pleased to launch our 2024 Grant Cycle to address some of these issues by empowering non-profits and social enterprises working on innovative solutions across the continent. At ACT Foundation, we believe in the power of sustainable collaborations to drive social impact. In the last six years, we have partnered with over 80 organisations in 8 African countries to implement impact-driven projects and we are not relenting. We look forward to working with the organisations who will emerge from this grant cycle.”
ACT Foundation welcomes interested organisations to send in their applications for the 2024 Grant Cycle by visiting the ACT Foundation website: www.actrustfoundation.org.
