BREAKING! Despite FG Directive, JAMB Insists On Admitting Candidates Below 18 Years Old
TRIXX NG reports that the Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) has said that candidates that are 16 years old and above would be considered for admission in the 2024 academic year.
This is coming after the minister for education announced that the federal government has banned admission of candidates below 18 years old.
While making the announcement, stakeholders present protested the decision but the minister refused to back down.
However, in a post shared on its X page, JAMB stated that candidates below 18 will still be considered.
‘’Candidates who are 16 years old would be considered for admissions into tertiary institutions for the 2024 academic year, however , the entry age would be 18 years as from next academic year.’’
