BREAKING! Emmanuel Okewulonu Wins PDP Okigwe Zone Senatorial Ticket

The results of the Imo State Peoples Democratic Party PDP primaries for Okigwe zone Senate has emerged, with Ifeanyi Araraume Jnr losing to Emmanuel Okewulonu.

Ifeanyi Araraume Junior polled 61 votes as against Emmanuel Okewulonu’s 132. The other aspirant Nwachukwu polled 1 vote.

The young Araraume dumped the All Progressives Congress APC, where his father is still a member, to contest for the seat his father lost to Frank Ibezim.

Like the father, the son has also failed to actualize the dream of having an Araraume in the Senate after the father’s exit in 2007.

Also victorious in Okigwe is Obinna Onwubuariri who won the party’s ticket to contest the Okigwe North Federal seat while former Deputy Speaker of the Imo Assembly Jonas Okere won the Okigwe South ticket.

Others who won State Assembly tickets of the PDP in Okigwe zone are, Ifeanyi Ozoemelam for Okigwe, Okwudiri Ugwuaku for Onuimo, Chika Okoroafor for Obowo, Chidiebere Ogaraku for Ehime Mbano, Obed Ajonuma for Ihitte Uboma and Pius Omah for Isiala Mbano.
