BREAKING: Evacuation Postponed As Russia Breaches Cease Fire, Continues Attack

TRIXX  NG reports the governor of the Donetsk region, Pavlo Kyrylenko, has accused Russia of breaching a ceasefire that was only just agreed upon.

“Due to the fact that the Russians…continue shelling of Mariupol, the evacuation of the population has been postponed,’ he said.

CNN reporter, Natasha Bertrand revealed this on the microblogging site, Twitter.

The Russian defence ministry said in a statement that it was declaring a ceasefire and opening “humanitarian corridors” to allow civilians to leave the cities of Mariupol and Volnovakha.

But Mariupol deputy mayor Serhiy Orlov told the BBC that “The Russians are continuing to bomb us and use artillery” despite the ceasefire. In a message on Telegram, the city council said fighting was also taking place in the Zaporizhzhia region, where the humanitarian corridor ends.”
