BREAKING: Finance Minister Suspends Accountant-General, Ahmed Idris Indefinitely Over N80bn Fraud
The embattled Accountant General of the Federation, Ahmed Idris has been suspended indefinitely.
Idris was suspended by the Minister of Finance, budget and National Planning, Zainab Ahmed, on Wednesday.
This is coming two days after the arrest of Idris by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over an alleged N80 billion fraud.
EFCC’s spokesman, Wilson Uwajaren, had confirmed Idris’s arrest on Monday.
He was arrested after he failed to honour invitations by the EFCC.
The anti-graft agency stated that Idris allegedly diverted funds and laundered N80billion.
