CBN Governor In Trouble After Imposing N6.98 On USSD Services Customers

Trixx NG reports that the central bank of Nigeria (CBN)  Governor, Godwin Emefiele has gotten in trouble with Nigerians who use the USSD Services.

This publication gathered that this is coming after the CBN imposed a charge of N6.98 on every session used on the USSD service platform by customers.

The CBN announced this afternoon that this will be taking effect from today march 16, 2021.

However, unsatisfied with this, Nigerians have taken to their social media pages to speak against this development

An attack on USSD is an attack against the poor people. CBN didn't think that one through at all.

Those who do not have access to smartphones are the ones most affected by ussd costs. e.i the poor.

So the question is, why is APC and the Buhari administration attacking the poor?
