Cult members killed another person again in Lagos
A middle age man identified as Mr Muhammad was reportedly killed on thursday in Aguda Surulere Lagos State.
According to a source who spoke on Thursday, trouble started in the area when some people suspected to be members of the Eiye confraternity invaded Sanya street the home of one Mr. Oladipupo idris who they believed renounced his membership of the confraternity after the clash in October 2023
The source said sometimes in October 2023 Mr Oladipupo idris publicly renounced his membership of the Confraternity after the killing of his causin Odedina kamal but his decision did not go down well with the gang members who reportedly shot Mr Mohammed who happened to be Mr Oladipupo idris closed friend.
It was learnt that the suspects also smashed their victim’s head with a stone after ransacked the whole house thinking Mr Idris was hiding but pleading from Mr Muhammad to spare his life proved abortive as he was shot and killed instantly. The incident happened on Tuesday night, a few minutes before midnight.
The clash between rival cults in this area is not unusual. A similar incident had occurred in the community in October 2023 Where Odedino Kamal was killed before Tuesday’s incident. This is not the first time these cult people are fighting; they have fought before and killed somebody,” the source said.
Commenting, the Divisional Police Officer, Aguda Divisional Headquarters, told our correspondent on the telephone on Wednesday that he visited the scene of the incident, adding that an investigation into the killing is ongoing.
“I’m aware of the incident. I was there throughout the night until daybreak. No suspect has been arrested for now,” He simply said.
Meanwhile, calls to the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, were not taken as his phone rang out on Wednesday
The activities of the cult gangs are becoming increasingly as some believe it is the politicians that recruited them for their political ambition and later abandoned them after the elections
