Death, Discrepancies, Violence Mar APC Fresh Registration Process

It is no more news that the All progressive congress (APC) has started a fresh membership registration and revalidating of membership interest for those who have been members of the party.

The Nigerian president, Muhammadu Buhari, the national leader of the party, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, governors, speakers of house of assemblies, Speaker of House of representatives, and other political top shot have done theirs.

However, despite the fact that the APC is the ruling party in Nigeria, all indication have pointed to the fact that there is so much cracks in the party with the many crisis that has covered before the fresh registration and during the process.

The date of the registration alone was postponed several times, and at some point, there was confusion because even the supposed stakeholders of the party could not control the flow of information about the fresh registration process.

The battle of the date was then fought and won, but then, it feels like that was just the beginning of the registration battle. The registration started last week, and the world has been made to see how dirty politics can be. The process has been marred with violence in some state chapters.

In Kwara, a mild violence erupted during the registration, in videos that was shared on the social media, people were seen throwing chairs at each other and this was just registration, not an election.

In Oyo state too, few days after violence disrupted the registration process in Kwara, there was violence and it was described as a free-for-all fight among members of the party of ‘Unity’.

It would have been better if it was just violence without anyone having to lose his or her life, unfortunately, the worst happened when the chairman of APC in Benue state was killed over an issue that has to do with Adhoc staff for the registration process.

Also, just after the national leader of the party did his registration, He faulted the registration process along side a chieftain of the party, Bisi Akande, but the committee incharge of the registration didn’t even give it a second thought.

With the whole saga playing out in the registration process, one would notice that some eaders of the party are not even in support of it but some powers beyond control are trying everything possible to ensure it is done for some hidden agenda.
