A non governmental organization, Nigerians in Diaspora for Good Governance (NIDGG) on Wednesday distributed food items to over 200 widows and aged in Lagos and Ogun states.

NIDGG stormed Iju Ishaga and Abule-egba hinterland in Lagos State and Akute in Ogun State to share food items including rice and garri for the widows and aged to ameliorate their suffering.

Oguntoye Akinsoji popularly known as SOJ while addressing newsmen, said this kind gesture from NIDGG is a way to giving back to the society.

The group noted that the economic situation in Nigeria has negative impact on vulnerable people.

The non governmental organization therefore implored political office holders to introduce policies to improve the economy and reduce poverty among the citizenry.

They also called for provision/distribution of food for the needy, widows and aged.
