Elegushi Mourns Lateef Jakande, Says He Lived A Fulfilled Life
Popular Lagos monarch, Oba Saheed Elegushi of Ikate Kingdom has described the death of the first civilian governor of Lagos State, Alhaji Lateef Jakande as the transition of a fulfilled life; a life well lived in the service humanity.
In a statement signed by the Special Assistant on Public Affairs to the monarch, Temitope Oyefeso, Oba Elegushi said the late statesman developmental strides in Lagos State provided the platofrm on which successive government built on, adding that his legacies remain indelible in the annals of the history of Lagos.
The monarch while commiserating with the family and all Lagosians over the loss, admonished politicians and public office holders to emulate the exemplary life of Alhaji Jakande.
Oba Elegushi also prayed for the repose of the soul of the late former govenror.
Alhaji Lateef Kayode Jakande who was the governor of Lagos State from 1979 to 1983 passed away at the age of 91years.
