From Olaiya Igwe To Brymo: ‘Naked’ Men Supporting Tinubu’s Presidential Ambition
The 2023 presidential election holding in February has brought about so many dramas from different sectors of the country. Although this isn’t alien to the political atmosphere in Nigeria as in the past, we have seen politicians eating Corn, becoming barbers, visiting mechanic workshops just to connect with the grassroot.
However, the drama that has taken place in the build up to the 2023 presidential election seems to take a different turn from others we have had in the past and this seems to happen around the candidate of the ruling party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu alone.
This time, we have not seen politicians eating corn or turning overnight barbers but we have been faced with popular individuals going n*ked for the presidential candidate of the APC.
One such occurrence is that of popular nollywood actor, Olaiya Igwe who stripped himself at the beach some weeks ago and said he was praying for the victory of Tinubu in the 2023 polls. Despite the fact that he received backlashes, he defended his position and maintained that he was directed by God to embark on such activity for Tinubu.
Shortly after his dramatic support for Tinubu, another popular personality who is a musician, Brymo Olawale started his campaign for Tinubu. At the moment, he is currently being dragged for speaking ill of the Igbos because of his love for Tinubu. It would be recalled that Brymo’s n^kedness isn’t news to his fans, he stripped himself in one of his music videos.
Another musician, Portable Omo Olalomi who declared his support for Tinubu when he campaigned for Gboyega Oyetola’s second term ambition in Osun state, stripped himself during the rally.
It has become imperative to ask questions on why the presidential ambition of Tinubu is attracting people with these similarities. It has never happened in Nigerian politics or could it be just a coincidence?
