The Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has accorded special recognition to the visioner and President of Property World Africa Network (PWAN Group), Dr Jayne Obioma Onwumere.

The Governor, who conveyed the recognition in a letter he signed personally, also salutes Dr Jayne Onwumere in acknowledgement of her trailblazing accomplishments, audacious visionary role and unending commitment to a more equal and equitable world.

This comes on the heel of the just celebrated International Women’s Day (IWD), where Dr Jayne Onwumere was decorated alongside 99 other women as Eko 100 women for the International Women’s Day and month.

While bestowing the recognition, Governor Sanwo-Olu said: “It’s my pleasure and privilege to write this letter to you to celebrate your unending commitment to a more equal and equitable world.”

He also noted that Dr Jayne Onwumere, to whom the honour of being the visionary of the first real estate network marketing business model, has inspired young males and females to follow in her footsteps in achieving a world where everyone is truly valued and acknowledged regardless of gender, age, language or skin colour.

The Governor expressed gratitude to Dr Jayne Onwumere, pointing out her unforgettable contributions towards building a greater Lagos.

He added that half of the population of our country are women and girls; noting that anything that “limits them limits all of us and stunts our capacity to achieve our full potential as a nation.”

“Therefore, the trailblazing work that you do is very important and necessary. Many of us young and old women, female and indeed men are inspired to follow in your steps and fully play ours in achieving a world where everyone is truly valued and acknowledged regardless of gender, age, language or skin colour.

” It is heart-warming to see the progress, being made in our state, in our country, one glass ceiling at a time. But we will be the first to acknowledge that more can be done and fast too. That we are an acclaimed centre of excellence is in large part due to the accomplishments of audacious and visionary people like you. Thank you for your unforgettable contributions towards building the greater Lagos of our dream. On this day and away, Lagos State celebrates you,” he said.

“We salute your boundary-breaking exploits and your bold and visible presence in the spaces and the places that matter. We also honour the works you do to expand these spaces for more people, especially women and girls. On behalf of the Lagos State Government, I am pledging our total and unequivocal support to achieve for every effort to achieve a Lagos where all girls and women can live their lives to the fullest potential and achieves without limits. I applaud you, Lagos applauds you,” the governor said.
