Followers of Gbenga Mathew Oni, popularly known as GMO and Wahab Adesola Asade, ‘Amiable’, have beckoned on Governor Dapo Abiodun, Chief Yemi Sanusi and other stakeholders in the ruling party, All Progressives Congress APC, to allow real primary elections at Ado-Odo/Ota constituencies 1 and 2 in order to encourage the electorates.

Sequel to the ongoing primaries of the party across the country, their followers urged the party leadership to have a rethink on the directives liable of making the party less popular ahead of the 2023 general elections given to the delegates in the Local Goverment.

Speaking to the newsmen when contacted, Comrade Musbau Semiu from constituency 2 said that “they can’t queue behind the betrayals of trust and agreements who don’t give regard to the party’s leadership decisions”. In a separate interview, Comrade Ogundimu Micheal said that, “the leadership of the party should allow all aspirants test their popularity and acceptability within the party without any influence before going to the general polls.”

According to the two of them, if the party intends to achieve its ideals and win the confidence of its members, conducting primary elections with no directives in Ado-Odo/Ota is the only avenue through which the aforementioned could be entrenched.

Responding to questions, they both said that the essence of addressing the press is to plead to the Governor and other leaders not to allow the general public make a mockery of the party, particularly in Ado-Odo/Ota, Comrade Semiu said “those that don’t respect the Governor don’t deserved to be respected or given any undeserving preference.”
