Some few days ago, a federal high court siting in Abuja rejected the plea of Senator Ifeanyi Ararume to declare him as the winner of the Imo north senatorial election that took place on the 5th of December, 2020.

Meanwhile, before the election, the court had sacked Senator Ararume as the candidate of the All Progressive Congress in the election after another candidate of the APC, Frank Ibezim dragged him to court. In another court judgment filed by Senator Ararume, Frank Ibezim was also sacked for certificate issues, and that left the APC with no legal candidate.

In his move to get the victory of the election, Sen Ararume went ahead to the court but unfortunately, he didn’t get the nod of the court. Although, the camp of Frank Ibezim is yet to talk go to court over the crisis.

However, in the election, even though INEC declared APC as the winner of the election, there was no candidate to return and that has stalled the progress of the senatorial district, no candidate is yet to be declared as winner of the election.

Furthermore, the candidate of the PDP, Emmanuel Okewulonu came second in the election, and with the recent development, He might eventually be granted the victory of the election.

Senator Ifeanyi Ararume is the only stumbling block, Frank Ibezim has been banned from contesting in any election in future, hence he isn’t an issue, and as the court has rejected Sen. Ararume, at the end of the day, the candidate of the PDP Will be declared winner
