How Otunba Ladi Oluwaloni-Led Olo Foundation Brought Smiles To Widows In Ayobo/Ipaja Environs

Leadership is the lifting of a person’s performance to a higher standard, the building of a personality beyond his normal limitations, leadership can also be explained about the will to conceive or far sightedness coupled with compassion and good judgements

It is the ability of an individual or a group of persons to lead, guide,influence and organise in an effective manner that will inspire the led towards fulfillment of organisational goals and balancing the conflict of interest of all subordinates and stakeholders.

That is the background with which the writer spent a detailed period to verify the emerging positive scenario that the Otunba Ladi oluwaloni (OLO) Foundation, an NGO ( Non Governmental Organisation) under the leadership of its President has been consistent since its inception nineteen years ago initiated a paradigm shift with its peculiar visionary traits disposed to charitable works and uplifment of the less privileged through an array of good spirited humanitarian incentives driven towards bringing succour and relief in the face of rising socio-economic challenges witnessed amply by the downtrodden below the societal rung,who form core of the pauperised and vulnerable as this evidently was an attestation to the big heart of Otunba Ladi Oluwaloni popularly known as *OLO 1* When he took to the centre stage the obligatory hosting of a routinal programme organised for resident widows living within Ayobo/Ipaja L.C.D.A but by extension this time in tandem with Federal Government Assisted Palliative Exercise rolled out to cushion the lingering hardship endured by Nigerians in view of the fuel subsidy removal policy.

The programme which attracted hundreds of widows in their numbers who flocked to the Oluwaga Venue, Secretariat Office of Asiwaju Solidarity Movement (ASM) at ipaja,a pro-asiwaju political support group and also the brain child of a leading GAC member and foremost Apex Political leader For Alimosho Federal Constituency which equivocally is tagged as *Tinubu’s Country Home*, The eminent award winning female icon and Generalissimo of Alimosho Politics, currently re-appointed serving Senior Special Assistant to the Presidency on SDGs ( Sustainable Development Goals) Princess (Dr)Victoria Adejoke Adefuluire.

The event which commenced at ten a.m prompt in line with the theme ‘Special Relief Package for Widows’ drew the magnanimous presence of political leaders from ward levels to designate key figures of Ayobo-Ipaja ASM ,Combined Staffs with Serving Supervisory Councillors, Senior Special Assistants (SSAs) on various porfolios of the executive cabinet of the council ( Ayobo/Ipaja L.C.D.A),Invited colleague and Vice Chairman, Agbado-Oke L.C.D.A,a one time cerebral and vibrant House of Assembly Aspirant for Alimosho Constituency 01 who acted in capacity as representative for her excellency Adejoke Adefuluire at the occasion in addition to the chief host who was arguably on ground to receive these notable personalities that graced the epoch making organised function respectively.

In a welcome speech to the beneficiaries of the programme delivered by the able representative for the overall Alimosho Apex leader (Adejoke Adefulire) in person of Honourable Akinola Idowu Bashiru popularly referred to as *Akin-Bash* serenaded the audience with the usual rites of party slogans to resonate their moods before delving into the conveyance of good will message to the widows in attendance, he also spurred them with the reassurance that the Apex leader in her habitual miem with candour resolves to use the position of her good office to acede to any worthy cause expected of her as the representative of the people to advance and support them in accessing the dividends earmarked in tune with President Tinubu led government Mantra of Renewed hope.

Hon.Akinola Bashiru also lauded the humane nature of the Chief Host (Otunba Ladi Oluwaloni) whom he appealed for continual support from the audience noting that such humble gesture exhibited by Olo bears the testament of selfless and dedicated service to humanity,he furthermore added that such charitable reception displayed is uncommon with most individuals having attained the position of leadership and power as such individual hardly indulge in any avenue worthy of giving back to the needy.

Lastly he roused the host not to relent in his god-sent mission and passion to always endeavour in reaching out to the aid of the less privileged as he had fervently been engaged to via his foundation which was birthed 2004 approximately nineteen years ago for the purpose of philanthropy.

In his parting shot.Hon.Akinola Bashiru reminded the beneficiaries that with the proven track record of Otunba Ladi’s profile as accessible personality despite his position as the Executive Vice Chairman,it will not be fool hardy to describe what fortunes might befall the people if given the opportunity to pilot the affairs of Ayobo-Ipaja L.C.D.A at the next LG polls invariably,this he remarked in conclusion

Other guests on the podium in attendance equally took turns in reeling out speeches of encouragement to the audience while extolling the virtues of Otunba Ladi Oluwaloni whom they described as an individual gifted with a caring heart and astute grassroots mobiliser of people and discoverer of talents in the making.He was howbeit acknowledged to have come a long way with his foundation and moreso a dependable ally to count on several political expeditions and never falter at party assignments bestowed as he was always instrumental to the overall cause or struggle of the party with much needed finances rendered from his personal purse.

In a close shave interaction with the President of OLO Foundation ( Otunba Ladi Oluwaloni) who in his elated mood spoke to the reporter for Ayobo/IpajaTV at the venue of the occasion.
In his words; *First and Foremost the motive of today’s event is aimed at bringing succour to widows and the vulnerable in our midst which of course is in line with the federal,State and also that of My Boss In person Of Chief Mrs Victoria Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire as recognised by me for the palliatives exercise carried out in a partial fulfillment of my age long dreams and foundational outreach incepted for the sole intent to come to the aid of the poor and less privilege.*

Let it be known that I was the first to Start this advocacy noted with philanthropic acts with the giving out of Scholarships, Free distribution of sewing machines, Freezers,monetary donations,free umbrella stands,tables and chairs to mobile vendors (Recharge cards/GSM phone call operators)before my advent into politics in Ayobo-Ipaja and this will continue so long God the Almighty grants me the priviledge and opportunity to contribute my quota of alleviating not only poverty but put a smile on those within my constituency.

The Executive Vice Chairman also emphasised that these acts of charity should not be tagged on the basis of self gratification nor seen as an avenue for vote canvassing or campaign strategy thereby sending a note of warning to purveyors of false news whose prior intentions are to mislead the general public via social media space to desist from soiling his hard earned reputation including that of his foundation in quote.

The main feature of the event which was the gifting of Special Bags bearing the insignia of the chief host had edible food stuffs such as Rice,Beans and Cassava cereals (Garri) with additional cash grants of Two thousand and Five hundred naira disbursed to over a hundred beneficiaries present as part of the interventionist measures at the historic function put together under the auspices of the Adejoke Adefuluire led pro-Asiwaju Support Group ( ASIWAJU SOLIDARITY MOVEMENT ) Ayobo-Ipaja Chapter.

Closing Remarks and prayers to round off the programme were given by the Secretary of APC in Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA,Alhaji Ayilara while the audience which consists mainly of the beneficiaries in their large numbers dispersed quietly but in an euphoria laced happy mood.

The colourful occasion cannot be said to be a success without the presence of notable dignitaries and party top shots within Alimosho Federal Constituency that were in attendance ranging from the likes of Hon.Akinola Bashiru, Hon Ajoke Obe ( Vice Chairman Agbado Oke LCDA) Hon.Engr.Adebayo Akande Alhaji Ayilara,Apex leader Elder Ayo-olorunseyi,ASM Ayobo-Ipaja Chairman Chief Ogunsola,Pa Oluwaga,Sir Funsho Adegunloye,Alhaji Bakare,Hon.Mrs Salewa Laguda, Hon Ganiu Nola Oguniyi,Hon.Taiye Odewale, Hon.Bola Afuwape,Hon. Anuoluwa Osinfade,Hon Taiwo Ayedun (Shanana) and a host of others not mentioned.
