‘’I wanted to become Ondo Governor For My Mother’’ – APC Aspirant, Funmi Ayinke

TRIXX NG reports that the only female aspirant under APC in the build-up to Ondo governorship election, Engr. (DR) Oluwafunmilayo Ayinke Waheed-Adekojo has revealed that the inspiration behind her ambition was her mother.

In an instagram post where she unveiled her new look and spoke about her gubernatorial ambition for the first time since she lost the primary, Funmi Ayinke made it known that she didn’t want to become governor because of money but to make her mother proud.

She explained that she became an engineer because of her mother and she wanted to do more for her, hence, the decision to run for the position of a governor but immediately her mother died, she lost every energy.

‘’I miss my mother, I lost her during the gubernatorial election politicking, I went all out to run for governorship because I know I have the ability and in the course, I lost my mother and I have not recovered from it. When I became an engineer, it was for my mother. I wanted to do more for my mother because she was the only one for us, if there is anything I can rewind or revive, it’s to make my mother come alive again but who are we to question God.’’

Funmi Ayinke noted that if her mother was alive, she would one day run for presidency to make her proud but since she left, she has begun to take life as vanity.

‘’After the death of my mother, we know what happened to the election, the incumbent governor won again. My energy and drive to become governor left, I am not actually looking for money, I wanted to create a name for my mother, I wanted to do more for her, I wanted her to be ‘Iya governor’ but the enemy didn’t agree. I believe she is now my angel and won’t allow anything to happen to me. I miss my mother.’’

‘’The same people I helped became my enemy, I am no longer wasting my money on Nigerians that are not grateful, I wish my mother was here so I can run for presidency tomorrow because of her. I am more like let me just wake up every morning and have a good life. I sponsored myself to run the gubernatorial race but now, I am taking life like vanity.’’
