Igbalaye with over 1,000 supporters join APC

A former House of Assembly aspirant under the platform of Labour party, Igbalaye Wasiu Ayodele with his over 1,000 supporters on Friday formally joined the All Progressive Congress(APC).

IWA as fondly called with his supporters were welcomed to the APC at the Abeokuta South party Secretariat.

Speaking with PLATFORM TIMES, Ayodele disclosed that APC has been the leading party since inception.

He said, “There is nothing like two party in Ogun State. We only have one party which is APC.

“Starting from 1999,former Governor of Ogun State, Olusegun Osoba is in APC, Otunba Gbenga Daniel is in APC and former Governor Ibikunle Amosun is also in the party.

Ayodele said the reason for joining the party is to continue to be progressive in all the good things he is doing.

In his words, “Before coming to APC, I have a foundation already because there’s a lot of things I have done.

“And joining APC, there’s a lot of things to do, like empowering market woman, giving scholarship to students among others.

Ayodele however commended the administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun, describing him as a leader that is always acceptable, and always listening to the needs of the people.

He also urged his supporters who have followed him to continue to work in unity.

While receiving Odufuwa, the APC Chairman in Abeokuta North, Henry Adetunji Fagbenro said IWA and his supporters joining the party is a plus to the party.

He also described Ayodele’s decision to join APC as right step in right direction.

The Chairman said, “It is another plus one, and a good thing to do for ‘someone who has a vision must have ambition’. ”

“You cannot expect anything less, with what is on ground and the crowd just joining, then, where’s other parties? They are not existing”.

He further stated that with the crowd coming in to the party, the party is tend to continue winning.
