JUST IN: Buhari Replaces Amaechi, Onu, Others, Sends Nominees List To Senate
TRIXX NG reports the Nigerian senate has received seven new nominees from President Muhammadu Buhari for consideration and confirmation as, Ministers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Their nomination is contained in a letter addressed to the President of the Senate, Dr. Ahmad Lawan which was read at plenary on Tuesday.
Buhari in the letter listed the ministerial designates to include: Henry Ikechukwu (Abia), Umana Okon-Umana(Akwa-Ibom), Ekuma Joseph (Ebonyi), Goodluck Obia (Imo) Umar Ibrahim(Kano), Ademola Adewole (Ondo), Udum Odi (Rivers).
Buhari said it was his expectation to receive the usual expeditious consideration and confirmation of the nominees by the Senate
Recall the ex-ministers had resigned to contest for primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC), following a directive from the president at the council meeting.
They included the then Ministers of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi; Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio; Science, Technology and Innovation, Ogbonnaya Onu; Minister of State, Mines and Steel Development, Uche Ogah, Minister of State, Education, Emeka Nwajiuba and Minister of State for Niger Delta Affairs, Chief Tayo Alasoadura.
