JUST IN: Niger Governor, Abubakar Bello Talks On Resigning Over Abduction Of Students
TRIXX NG reports that the governor of Niger state, Abubakar Bello has spoken about resigning over the abduction of students in his state.
The governor explained that He will not resign over the crisis that saw 27 students of government science college, Kagara
The governor emphatically stated that“I am not considering resigning anything”, adding that “this is the first time students are being kidnapped in this state”.
The students were abducted alongside 14 others when armed bandits attacked their school on Wednesday morning.
Some Nigerians said the incident, which has been part of a trend of attacks on schools in the northern part of the country, is an indictment on the state government.
But responding to a question by TheCable when he addressed journalists at the state government house, Bello said he is not contemplating resigning over the issue.
He, however, added that the state is doing its best to ensure the students are released within “the next few days or hours”.
