JUST IN: Ogun Governorship Candidate Dies Six Days After Declaration
Professor David Bamgbose, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) in Ogun State is dead.
TRIXX NG learned that Prof. Bamgbose, a former member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), died on Friday at the Sacred Heart hospital, Lantoro, Abeokuta, after a brief illness. He was 54.
This is coming six days after he was announced the party candidate.
His death was confirmed by one of his aides, Oduntan Olayemi.
He explained that Bamgbose had complained of tiredness a day earlier, and was taken to hospital around Olomore, where he was referred to Federal Medical Central, Abeokuta.
“I was at where I went to get him some prescribed medication that he has passed on.” he said.
The deceased is survived by his wife, Mary Bamgbose and six children.
Condolence messages have been pouring in on social media following the demise of the governorship hopeful.
