Just In: Senator Solomon Adeola’s Twitter account hacked
Fraudsters have purportedly hacked the dormant verified Twitter account of Senator representing Lagos West, and the Chairman Senate Committee on Finance, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola.
Trixx NG learnt after the dormant account was hacked, the impostors proceeded to use it to market products to the “people of Lagos and the rest of the world”.
In a press release signed by the Media Adviser to the Senator, Chief Kayode Odunaro has, however, warned the general public to be wary of fraudsters and impostors using the dormant twitter account of Sen. Yayi for selfish interest and to defraud the general public, as the report has been made to the security agencies for quick action.
He further said that for the records purposes, since the ban on Twitter by the Federal Government, the Twitter account of the Senator @YAYIAdeola has been dormant in compliance with the ban placed on Twitter.
“As a high-ranking lawmaker and law abiding citizen, the Senator will not engage in any activity disrespectful of lawful directives pursuant of the national interest.
“For the avoidance of doubt, the general public should note that the Senator is not engaged in or in partnership with any organization including; Playstation purportedly offering to “sell thousands of Ps5s to the people of Lagos and the Rest of the world” as the impostors and fraudsters claimed on his hacked Twitter Account.
“Members of the public should note that the offer for sale is a fraudulent acts and gimmick from some criminal elements to defraud unsuspecting followers of the distinguished Senator, so the offer should be totally disregarded.”
He further noted that the Senator has since reported the incidence to the security agencies for investigation and possible apprehension of the criminals while efforts are ongoing to retrieve the account from the criminals.
