Lagos Deputy Governor, Femi Hamzat, Top Party Chieftains Allegedly Beaten During APC Peace Meeting
Acme Road on the Ogba, Ikeja axis and surrounding streets is a no go area following internal wrangling between members of the All Progressive Congress, APC resulting in free for all fight.
Elders and leaders of the party in Lagos State had called for a reconciliation meeting following the bad blood that followed the last APC primaries which threw up Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Dr. Obafemi Hamzat as governorship and deputy governorship candidate of the party and other candidates.
The free for all fight was unprecedented as even the Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat and other party chieftains were allegedly beaten up by aggrieved party members to such an extent that the Deputy Governor was whisked away by his security details and the reconciliation meeting between party elders and leaders was eventually cancelled.
“Experience at Apc Acme Lagos State Party Secretariat where notable members were seriously beaten by angry members leading to the cancellation of reconciliation and harmonization meeting by party elders and leaders”, an eye witness said.
Our source also warned any party members to stay away from Acme as they would be severely beaten if they step foot on the secretariat at Acme road.
Ensuing impasse has led to heavy traffic situation on the axis.
This is not the first time that there has been free for all fight at the APC Secretariat, the last one was between women party leaders.
