Makinde Dissolves LGA Caretaker Committees
IBADAN – As the three-month tenure extension of all the 68 local government and council development areas caretaker chairmen and members in Oyo state ends on Friday, March 19th, the governor of the state, Engineer Seyi Makinde has directed them to hand over to the Head of Local Government Administration (HOLGA), in their respective councils.
Makinde made the order of dissolution through Hon. Commissioner for Local government and Chieftaincy Matters, Barrister Bayo Lawal on Tuesday, following the expiration of the three month tenure extension.
The Oyo state House of Assembly extended the tenure of all the 68 LGAs chairmen and their members by three months last January, all the chairmen and members of the council are directed to vacate office latest today, Thursday 18th March 2021.
