Moment Lagos-Kano Train Derails Off Rail Tracks In Niger (Video)
A Kano State-bound train from Lagos has derailed within Jebba area in Niger state, North-central Nigeria this Saturday, with no record of casualty.
The Managing Director, Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC), Fidet Okhiria confirmed the incident in a phone conversation with AIT following the emergence of a video showing the fallen coaches and damaged rail tracks. He, however, said only the luggage vans at the rear were involved in the mishap.
Okhiria added that other parts of the train conveying passengers continued the journey after the mishap.
The cause of the incident is yet to be ascertained, but the corporation says it is hoping to fix the damaged portions of the rail tracks in a few days.
