My Two Children Are Affected By ASUU Strike – Ex-Education Minister, Nwajiuba
The former Minister of State for Education, Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, on Sunday has disclosed that two of his children are affected by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strike.
TRIXX NG recalls that Nwajiuba resigned his position last week to concentrate on his presidential ambition.
The presidential aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC) during an interview with Channels TV noted that four of his children have passed through Nigerian universities.
While speaking on the lingering strike, he called on students and members of the union to understand what the issues are.
He said, “I do apologize to Nigerian students because as their minister, I will take responsibility.
“But also, on behalf of the Federal Government, I would say ‘please understand what the issues are.
“All my four children have passed through Nigerian universities. I still have two who are at home now because they are all in public universities.”
Nwajiuba, who is no longer in the cabinet of President Muhammadu Buhari, would be hoping to clinch the presidential ticket of the ruling party ahead of vice president, Yemi Osinbajo, the national leader of the party, Bola Tinubu, former minister of transportation, Rotimi Amaechi and others.
