President of the Nigeria Eagles supporters club (NESC), Honorable Sunny J Gullong, has pledged to mobilize not less than 30 thousand supporters for Nigeria’s Super Eagles, ahead of next year’s Africa cup of nations (AFCON) championship scheduled to hold in Ivory Coast, Cote D’Ivoire.

In a group phone conversation on Tuesday afternoon, Honorable Sunny said plans by a branch of the NESC, in conjunction with the Nigerian Ambassador in Cote D’Ivoire are already underway to galvanize enough support base for the Super Eagles during next year’s AFCON.

Known to be an advocate and a lover of peace, the gentle and proactive president also noted that steps are being taken to engage all warring factions of other supporters club members to put aside all differences, so as to harmonize and move into Cote D’Ivoire in one spirit and in one accord for the sake of the success of the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

“Mobilizing people in Cote D’Ivoire, we have actually started that because our branch in Cote D’Ivoire has started working on it, they visited the Nigerian Ambassador in Cote D’Ivoire, for them to be able to have a soft landing and how to mobilize people in Cote D’Ivoire”

“We’ve already met with a consultancy firm in Abuja here, which they are ready to sponsor and bring one jersey for us to mobilize about 30 thousand Nigerians both home and away for them to be in Cote D’Ivoire during the AFCON championship regardless of our differences as supporters club in Nigeria”

“We are working really hard on that, and try to see how we would harmonize and agree together to put our differences aside with other supporters club members so we can move to Cote D’Ivoire in one spirit and in one accord”

Speaking about Nigeria’s chances of lifting next year’s AFCON in Cote D’Ivoire, Honorable Sunny, without any shadow of a doubt said Nigeria has the prospect of winning the title for a record 4th time.

He noted that if our coaches will stick with thesame set of players that prosecuted the final rounds of the AFCON qualifiers against Sao Tome in Uyo, without further alterations to the list, then Nigeria stand a better chance of winning the nations cup.

“The set of players we used in Uyo, if we can groom them, let them know themselves very well, our chances of winning AFCON next year is very bright, we don’t have any biased mind that we are not going to win”

“Definitely with this team we are seeing, putting one or two together, and then with the formation itself and the pattern, and especially with this coach we’re having, I think we don’t have any fear” he concluded.
