PDP OKIGWE ZONE RECEIVES IKEOHA IN A GRAND STYLE

On Sunday, 17th October, 2021, all roads led to the Central School, Anara, the venue for a grand reception by the leadership and membership of the PDP, for Chief Emmanuel Okewulonu and other political stalwarts like Rt Hon Obinna Onwubariri, Rt.Hon Jonas Okeke and the six HoA candidates of the party in the last general election.

The occasion, which was planned and organized by the Prof Obioma lheduru planning committee was apt and cute. Everything was in place and order, with the venue gorgeously dressed and adorned with PDP colors to match.

By 1pm already, the entire venue was filled to capacity with over five thousand members and lovers of PDP. The six LGA stands were fully stuffed with members from the areas. Friends, well-wishers and various support groups were also there in their numbers.

There were two scintillating musical bands and some traditional dance groups, vibrating and entertaining the crowd. The entire space was gay with people making new contacts and friends while others used the opportunity to consolidate political relationships.

The triumphant arrival of the Honoree, Chief Emma Okewulonu – Ikeoha and soon after, HE, Rt Hon Emeka lhedioha, CON, the occasion got kick-started with opening formalities and traditions.

There were remarks, first from the chairman of the planning committee, Prof Iheduru, then the Zonal chairman Sir Chidi Dike, and the able State Chairman, Engr. Charles Ugwu, oon.

The Honoree, Chief Emmanuel Okewulonu, lkeoha, the surpriser, the husband of indigent widows, in his remarks, thanked the party for granting him this great honor. He pledge to serve and continue to support the party at all levels. He was presented with beautiful plaques, first from the zone and then from some PDP support groups and bodies in the zone.

His Excellency in his remarks, thank the leadership of the party in the zone for the wonderful reception and gathering of such a mammoth crowd. He expressed joy with recent developments in the zone and implored the leadership to maintain the team spirit and cooperation that were displayed.

HE also used the opportunity to debunk the insinuation that there are rifts among the leadership of the party in the state. He made it point clear that there is harmony among the party leadership and family in the state. He prayed and asked members to work hard and closely to make sure that the party clinches power at all levels in the forthcoming elections

The high point of the occasion was the admission of “decampees” numbering over one thousand from APC and other political parties in Ehime Mbano and Isiala Mbano. They were received by the State Chairman, Engr Charles Ugwu in collaboration with the HE, Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha.

The august occasion was witnessed by a galaxy of the party leadership in the zone and state. The State Working Committee was led of course, by no other than the ebullient, charismatic and digital State Chairman, Engr Charles Ugwu, oon. Those with him were the Deputy State Chairman, Sir Martins Ejiogu, a fine and astute administrator and the State Secretary, Nze Ray Emeana, Barr.Josiah Eze State Treasure,Barr Kessinger Ikeokwu State legal Adviser, Ezinwa Godson Nwobasi,
State Auditor,and the State Woman leader, Hon.Chief Mrs Maria Mbakwe.

The Zonal Chairman Hon. Sir Chidi Dike had full complement of the zonal executive committee members with him. There were also the six LGA chairmen complete in attendance.

On the leaders train of the zone were the capacity leader, Hon Barr Chris Okewulonu, Ebekuo, Rt Hon Obinna Onwubariri, Chief Chinedu Chukwuonye, Rt Hon Lawman Duruji, Nze Kennedy Chukwuonye and Rt Hon lke C. lbe.
