PENGASSAN National Essay Competition for JSS1 and SS1 Nigerian Students

The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN), having followed the saying that “it is never too early to commence a career as a writer”, is calling for registration for its maiden edition of the PENGASSAN National Essay Writing Competition.

According to Richard Bach, a professional writer is an amateur who didn’t quit. To this end, the foremost union in the most important sector of the Nigerian economy is giving JSS1 and SS1 students in Secondary Schools across Nigeria the platform to hone their writing skills through essays and win big.

The Consultant of the program, Xavina Consulting Ltd, has stated that the essay would focus on ‘Clean Energy and the environment.’

Registration starts by 23rd and closes by 6th October. The organizers, therefore, encourage students in these categories to apply early.

Prizes to be won include:

SS1 category –
• winner: cash prize of one million naira (N1million);
• 2nd Prize N500, 000 and
• 3rd prize N300,000.

JSS 1 category;
• winner cash prize of N500,000;
• 2nd Prize of N300,000 and
• 3rd Prize is N200,000.

Other consolation cash prizes include N100,000. 00 for 4th to 6th positions each for each category.
