Super Eagles Dare Cote D’Ivoire as Equatorial Guinea challenge Guinea Bissau on GOtv




The Super Eagles of Nigeria will take on the Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire on Thursday as they look to secure their first win in the group stage of the ongoing TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Côte d’Ivoire 2024 (AFCON). You can watch or livestream on your decoder or the GOtv Stream app.


Jose Peseiro’s men were held to a 1-1 draw in their opening game against Equatorial Guinea on Sunday. Reigning CAF Men’s Player of the Year, Victor Osimhen 38th minute header cancelled Ivan Edu’s 35th minute curling opener. The Eagles need a win against the host in their second game to boost their chances of qualifying.


Côte d’Ivoire opened their campaign against Guinea Bissau with an entertaining 2-0 victory, courtesy of Seko Fofana and Jean-Philippe Krasso. Peseiro will hope his side can take inspiration from the 2013 AFCON winning Super Eagles team that defeated the Elephants in the quarter-finals. “If you want to win the AFCON, you must be ready to face tough opposition. So, we are ready, Cote d’Ivoire is a good team and one of the favourites.If we create the same opportunities and take our chances, then we have a better chance of winning against Cote d’Ivoire,” he said during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria.
