Imo north senatorial district has continue to be one district that calls for the attention of the public every now and then since the bye-election held on December 5, 2020.

The election, up till now is yet to have a headway as regards the winner as there are several issues attached to it. Even though the INEC declared APC as the winner of the election but never returned any candidate because two court rulings sacked the candidates of the APC; Frank Ibezim and Ifeanyi Ararume.

After this, both of them went to the supreme court and Frank Ibezim was declared as the right candidate of the party, but there is a clause. Frank Ibezim was sacked by the court because he had issue with his certificate, the case against him is certificate forgery, and with this, he can never occupy any political office in Nigeria.

Frank Ibezim quickly ran to the Appeal court maybe his name will be cleared in the forgery mess but unfortunately, the court upheld the decision of the high court that earlier sacked him, now he is left with the supreme court which will give the final jiudgment on the certificate issue.

Now, The federal high court made a judgment, it was debated in the appeal court, and the appeal court still said the same thing, How then can the supreme court give a separate judgment? The supreme court judgment will be based on the earlier judgment of the Federal high court and Appeal court, and definitely, the supreme court will still follow the lead of the two lower courts.

How then does Frank Ibezim wants to be saved in all of this? His pursuit of victory at the supreme court will only lead the candidate of the PDP, Emmanuel Okewulonu to become easily favoured because once the supreme court upholds the earlier judgments, INEC will be left with no choice than to declare the next party with the highest vote as the winner, which is PDP.
