Tension as Gunmen abduct wife of Personal assistant to Late PDP Stalwart in ibadan

The wife of Mr Olujide Ridwan Babatunde Mrs Oparemi Rofiyat has been kidnapped by gunmen at her residence, in Ibadan the incident which sent shock waves in and around the area reportedly took place around 9p.m on the 12th of January 2024, the 28 years old woman was approaching her residence at no 5 ajibade street wakajaye iwo road ibadan in oyo when she was accosted and whisky away to an unknown destination.

The husband of the victim Mr Olujide Ridwan Babatunde is the personal assistant to the Late Sulimon Ariyibi a PDP Councillor from ward 10, Ibadan South East Local Government who was killed in February 2023 before the presidential election,it will be recall that the deceased as gathered by our reporter was attacked and killed in his house at Ile Tuntun area, Ibadan the Capital city of the state in the presence of his wife and kids while his Personal assistant Olujide Ridwan Babatunde escaped and went into hiding since 2023.

When contacted on phone by our reporter the Chairman of Landlord Association in the area Mr Benjamin Adebayo said it’s true there was a case of kidnapping in the area by gunmen around 9pm on 12th January,2024,the attacked may not be unconnected with political rivalry between the PDP and APC during the buildup to the presidential election in 2023

As at the time of filing this report the whereabout of Mrs Oparemi Rofiyat is yet unknown as effort to get her husband on phone proved abortive,according to family member the Mrs Oparemi Rofiyat just returned back from Abuja when the incident happened as it was gathered that the husband of the victim Mr Olujide Ridwan Babatunde who has gone into hiding since last year 2023 after the killing of his Boss Late Sulimon Ariyibi in February 2023,a source said Mr Olujide was the target and when our correspondent visited the family house no one is willing to talk to our reporter for fear of been attacked.

However, the state command spokesperson, said he was yet to be briefed as at the time of filing this report.
