The Battle For Who Becomes The Senator To Represent Imo North Has Just Started

Yesterday, the supreme court gave clarity to the issue that has been affecting Imo North senatorial district since the senatorial election held in December 2020.

The all progressive congress has been the one delaying the process as the party was not able to settle for a candidate in the election. It has been different court judgment for and against Senator Ifeanyi Ararume and Frank Ibezim.

However, this was over yesterday when the supreme court put finishing touches to it and affirmed Frank Ibezim as the candidate of the party.

With this latest development, the battle for who finally gets the victory has just began and now it is between the candidate of the APC, Frank Ibezim and the candidate of the PDP, Emmanuel Okewulonu.

This battle will be fought squarely at the election tribunal, as the PDP has proceeded to the tribunal to make case for some of the discrepancies that took place before the election.

It would be recalled that Frank Ibezim was sacked as the candidate of the party for forging his certificate 24 hours before the election.

With this, the case at the tribunal is to determine if the APC had any candidate as at the time when the election held or not.

The candidate of the PDP has an upper hand in this case because it is publicly known that the APC went into the election with no candidate due to the court case that sacked him before the election held.

The tribunal will be sitting soon, so lets keep fingers crossed
