In a bid to transform the lives of children affected by limb loss due to congenital issues, accidents, or mismanaged injuries, Stanbic IBTC has sponsored 136 beneficiaries in the 10th edition of its Together4ALIMB program.

The Together4ALIMB initiative, a partnership between Stanbic IBTC Holdings and Ifean Health Diagnostics, aims to provide a promising future for children who have experienced limb loss.

Each beneficiary received prosthetic legs and a financial grant of 1.5 million naira to improve their quality of life and support their future aspirations.

The event began with a workout session that brought together top officials, company staff, and partner organizations. Participants then embarked on a 4-kilometer walk, starting from Stanbic IBTC Towers, traversing Carrington Crescent through Ozumba Mbadiwe in Victoria Island, and concluding at the company’s headquarters.

Notable attendees included the First Lady of Lagos State, Ibijoke Sanwoolu; the Founder and CEO of Ifean Health, Ejike Anih; the representative of the German Consulate in Lagos, Mr. Jochen Schindelarz; and Corps Commander of the Nigeria Army, Brig Gen Samson Okoigi.

Restating the company’s commitment to supporting the beneficiaries, Demola Sogunle said

“We will be there for you at every point in time. Even when it comes to seeking employment, you can always turn to us. Whether as interns, graduate trainees, or beyond, we are dedicated to helping you fulfill your dreams and aspirations. Our support extends to the educational needs of children affected by limb loss.”

First Lady Ibijoke Sanwoolu commended the initiative, expressing her appreciation for Stanbic IBTC’s strong commitment over the years.

“This is the 10th edition, and it is impressive to see that over 136 children have benefited from your Corporate Social Responsibility efforts. Supporting special children who have experienced limb loss, mismanaged injuries, or congenital issues, and providing them with prosthetics and educational trust funds, is crucial in helping them achieve their full potential and feel a sense of love and care.”Our society now recognizes that physical disability does not equate to inability. It should not prevent anyone from achieving positive outcomes in life. We must come together, as Stanbic IBTC has done, to break down barriers and create a more inclusive society. Today, we reaffirm our commitment to ensuring that every individual, regardless of ability, has access to quality education and employment opportunities, and the chance to live a fulfilled life. I am confident that this project will greatly improve the lives of these children and bring relief to their families,” she added.

Revealing the broader impact of the initiative, the Founder and CEO of Ifean Health Diagnostics, Ejike Anih, said,

“Whenever a child loses a limb, someone in the family, often the mother, stays home to care for that child, preventing her from going to work. By providing prosthetics, as Stanbic IBTC has done through the Together4ALIMB program, the mother can return to work, and the child can go back to school. The economic impact on the family is profound. Stanbic IBTC has made a difference in 136 families across the country.”
