Tortuga Frigate Holds Unique Agbada Festival & Award Day 2021

TRIXX NG reports that Tortuga Frigate, Ikorodu held her unique agbada festival and award day on Saturday, 30th Of October, 2021 in Lagos.

The event had several personalities in attendance which includes the National President BAN-BC72, Comrade Abayomi Adejonwo, State Chairman Alpha Galleon, Mr. Akeredolu Oluwaseun, representatives from other Frigates, wives and friends of the association.

The chairman of Tortuga Frigate, Comrade Pelumi Olamilekan Rado in his keynote address noted that even though the journey has been tough, he was able to sail through with the help of his executives and his wife.

While thanking the wives of the Tortugarians for their endurance and support, he also expressed his gratitude to all Tortugarians and urged them to uphold the aims and objectives of BAN-BC72.

“I keep saying that the difference is clear, when people see us they can easily differentiate us. We’re not cultists, we’re not tout nor hooligans. We’re reliable and responsible citizens,” he added.
In his keynote address, the executive president BAN-BC72, Mr. Abayomi Adejonwo congratulated Comrade Rado and his executives for the success of the event and also for celebrating and promoting the Yoruba culture.

He also reiterated that the buccaneer is not a secret cult adding that they play a critical role in society.

“Anyone who is not an Omoluabi is not a buccaneer. We believed in loyalty, social justice and uprightness as an individual and association. That’s exactly what makes us omoluabi,” he said.

Under the leadership of Comrade Rado, Tortuga Frigate achieved the following feats: Officially opened her own Instagram Page and Youtube Channel that showcases all their events and achievements; officially registered into affiliation with the Ikorodu local government which entitles every single tortugarian to an official ID card; Opened 2 official Company accounts; Held Beach Meeting & Mega Family Picnic; Initiated the Tortuga prayer session, visitation & presentation of a gift to the orphanage; Officially birthed its own first set of scarlet in her noble Frigate; Presented  55 NECO-SSCE forms To Indigent brilliant students across Senior Secondary School In Ikorodu division; Made a glorious presentation of environmental sanitation tools to Sabo market Ikorodu and also had its end of year distribution of Xmas life chicken with a  gallon of groundnut oil to Family members of the association.

The event concluded with the cutting of cake and presentation of awards to Tortugarians and selected media houses which include Trixx NG, Mega expression magazine, Charlian TV in recognition and appreciation for their efforts and contributions to the growth of the association.
