Two Dead As Police, NSCDC Clash In Imo
Men of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and some personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) reportedly exchanged live fire at the state headquarters of the NSCDC in Imo State.
TRIXX NG learnt that the incident which happened on Monday evening led to the deaths of two persons.
The details of the confrontation are still sketchy but it has however, created tension in the area.
Reacting to the news on Twitter, Deji Adesogan, a security analyst, described it as “a setback to inter-agency synergy” in Nigeria.
“The face off btw two security agencies, Police and NSCDC Operatives today in Owerri, Imo State, is unfortunate and a serious setback as regards inter-agency synergy. Discrete investigation is needed and culprits should be sanction accordingly,” he said.
The spokespersons for the police and NSCDC in the state are yet to react to the incident.
