Nonso Okpala, VFD Group Boss jumps on the #TEFChallenge in an interview and spoke on the importance of the 2021 TEF Entrepreneurship Programme for young entrepreneurs.

What were you up to before this call came in?
Well, my morning rituals of responding to emails, a thousand and one of them. But I think I’m almost through.

Do you mind? What that item over there (points to an artwork on the table)?
Right… It’s the sculpture of honorable Nnamdi Azikiwe, the first indigenous governor-general of Nigeria. This was done by an artist in 1962.

I noticed there are a lot of art pieces here, which one of them is your favourite?
Hmmm… That’s a tough question! Believe it all the art pieces (Gives the interviewer a tour of all his art collections and his favourite spot in his living room).

Do you mind if we pick up the pace a little bit?
Sure, no problem.

So 9 to 5 or entrepreneurship?
It is obvious… Entrepreneurship.

Movies at the cinema or live musicals?
Maybe I’m not that classy right… Movies at the cinema it is.

Low cut or Afro?
Afro.

Akanna, Nnoma or Chinedu?
I’ll take all of them.

Instagram or Twitter?
Instagram.

So what’s one side of you that people don’t get to see a lot?
Movies… I like movies a lot (points to a huge TV in the living room), as I spend a lot of time watching TV. This is another thing that most people don’t like about me. I have a house, but I prefer to chill in an exclusive room where nobody comes to ask for anything.

Any message for young Africans?
Well, you need to keep working hard to make your dreams come true. Speaking of dreams you should go on tefconnect.com to take a chance at it, you never can tell you could be the next Aliko Dangote or the next Tony Elumelu, or the next Niyi Adenubi. You never really know.
