BREAKING! Eight Passengers Dead As Truck Falls On Bus From Ojuelegba Bridge (VIDEO)
TRIXX NG reports that tragedy has struck in Lagos as a truck has fallen-off Ojuelegba bridge on a 18-passenger bus, killing eight people.
According to a witness account shared by @PoojaMedia on Twitter, the truck fell while trying to prevent a bus from overtaking it.
“Container just fell on a bus at Ojuelegba bridge. There are people inside the bus (full load) as health officials are giving them trip. We need emergency here to lift the container,” @PoojaMedia tweeted.
Speaking to an eyewitness (an Uber driver), he said the trailer wanted to block the bus from overtaking him immediately he overtook the trailer as he saw everything through his side mirror. He went to turn at the roundabout to see the impact.”
The state emergency management agency (LASEMA) rescuers at the scene with other agencies were able to remove the container with its heavy-duty equipment while the head of the bus was also removed. The LASEMA update revealed that while only one person was alive, a total of 8 bodies were recovered comprising; three adult males, three adult females, a girl child and a boy child.
