For some days now, there has been tension in the air over the giant strides of a Yoruba freedom fighter, Sunday Igboho in curbing the evil strings of killings caused by Fulani Herdsmen in Nigeria.

He had gone to a village in Oyo state to issue an ultimatum to Fulani herdsmen to exit Yoruba land because of the evil act perpetrated by some of their bad eggs that has led to death, kidnap, rape of important personalites in Yoruba land.

The ultimatum expired yesterday and it was almost a near war experience in Ibarapa, Oyo state when Sunday Igboho stormed the community with black power to send the herders away. This action was also followed by houses been burnt, people getting injured, and death of two people.

Sunday Igboho was praised after this, and so many have started referring to him as the new Aare Ona Kakanfo Of Yoruba Land due to this act of this.

However, in as much as there is need to curb the evil act of the Fulani herdsmen in Yoruba land, is that the right way to do it? Its understandable that they have been perpetrating violence in Yoruba land, but an eye for an eye make the world go blind, won’t we experience a reprisal attack which could be deadlier than what we have been experience?

Sunday Igboho no doubt has passion for Yoruba land, and it’s so obvious that He wants peace in Yoruba land but unfortunately, that fight cant be fought alone. The Yoruba leaders, politician needs to be united with him to fight this cause, its not going to be an easy one, a coalition is needed.

If we continue on this path, the Fulani and hausas will also forcefully evict Yoruba tribe in their land, properties and wealth will be lost, they will be forced to return to their homes, gradually, we are moving to another era of a technical civil war.

Can Sunday Igboho save us from this?
