‘My Boys Were Not The Ones Who Burnt Fulani Houses’ – Sunday Igboho
Following the quit notice issued to the Fulani herdsmen in Oyo state, reports has it that some houses belonging to the herders were burnt after Sunday Igboho, a Yoruba freedom fighter stormed the community to evict the herders.
Accusation fingers have been pointing to Sunday Igboho and his boys as a result of the arson, however, he has debunked the rumours, and explained that it was the indigenes of the community that burnt the houses.
He spoke through his PA, and made it known that the police were with them till they left the community, and that nothing of such happened when they were there.
‘’We were not the ones who did that. It was after we left; the boys know one another. They said they could not go with us, because the Fulani could attack them. So, they entered the settlement through a forest. They are not part of us. They are the indigenes. It was not Sunday Igboho’s men.
“They burnt the house after we left. Nobody can say they saw us at the scene of the event. The police Area Commander followed us when we had the town hall meeting in the area. The Fulani cannot just be raping and kidnapping our people.”
