President Buhari’s Top Aide To Lose His Job As Twitter Ban Becomes Effective

Yesterday, President Muhammadu Buhari announced that microblogging platform, Twitter has been indefinitely suspended in Nigeria because of its activities in the internet space that could be dangerous to the co-existence of the country.

This ban came after President Buhari’s tweet on the insecurity rocking south east was deleted for going against the rules of twitter.

The ban has sparked several comments on the social media especially on twitter, throughout the night, it was full of reactions from celebrities, countries, influencers, and many others.

However, a question on the mind of everyone is if President Buhari’s aide on new media, Bashir Ahmad will lose his job since twitter is basically the only new media application he works on.

Bashir Ahmad is a popular figure on twitter because of his responsibilities to the Nigerian government which is to disseminate and monitor the flow of information about the President on social media, with special reference to twitter.

With this ban, His services will not be needed as long as the suspension stands, will he still be able to keep this job? Of course, He might not be able to keep the job since there is no tangible platform for him to act, even if he still gets paid, the job is gone
