Top Govt Official Resigns, Declares For Senate

The Secretary to the State Government (SSG) in Ebonyi, Kenneth Ugbala, on Thursday announced his decision to resign from Governor Dave Umahi’s cabinet and pursue his ambition of becoming the representative of the people of Ebonyi Central in the 10th National Assembly.
TRIXX NG learnt that Ugbala made this officially known to pressmen after a closed-door consultation meeting with the Ebonyi State All Progressives Congress (APC) Working Committee at the party’s Secretariat in Abakaliki, the state capital.
“I’m here to consult with the State Working Committee of our party and seek their approval and support to run for Senate come 2023 for the Ebonyi Central Senatorial District.
“You know political party is a platform through which you can come into leadership. And before any step is taken, it’s necessary to consult with the party leadership and seek their approval. That’s why I’m here,” he said.
